# orange juice
# green tea
Based on circumstances somewhat out of my control, i.e.:
- a dangerously closed to being expired yet not yet opened carton of low-acid orange juice
- my intense levels of sickness that are rendering me pretty much bedridden
- my attempts to keep track of and limit my calories for the impending arrival of summer
- my massive explosion of sushi-eating yesterday that has rendered me basically not wanting to eat anything, especially anything fish, for the next year
I am attempting a “tea and orange juice cleanse" for the day. The goal is to finish this entire carton of Tropicana Essentials no pulp low acid orange juice, which contains 770 calories, 189g of carbohydrates, 161g of sugar and 14g of protein. I doubt I’ll be able to eat much after that because I did only wake up at noon and it is 1.75 litres of juice.
I’m adding in green tea as well and water (because I’m a hydration junkie) and I might finish off the day with a small meal in the school cafeteria or some chickpeas in balsamic vinegar for dinner, but thats basically it.
So here’s the goals of the experiment, slash what I want to see:
- whether or not the intense rush of vitamin C will help my horrible cold or be too much and render itself pretty much useless
- whether or not drinking this much orange juice will make me sick/the effects of that much juice in general
- whether or not this will actually keep me feeling full and not starving throughout the whole day (granted, so far so good) and whether or not this constant hydration will stave off hunger cravings.
This is the student version of a juice cleanse.
lets blow this popsicle stand.
# morning workout
Woke up late so I ran to class (that counts as a workout right? :P) and discovered it was horribly snowy outside which meant I have to take the tunnels which would take even longer, but I made it on time AND I even managed to eat a bowl of oatmeal before. Yay.
Finished one water bottle with Emergen-C in it (I’m fighting this cold tooth and nail I swear) and then came back here and did a mini workout. 5 minutes of jumping jacks, then russian twists, sit ups, push ups and some sun salutations to stretch my body out. I’m so sore after yesterday.
Now I’m sitting here fully dressed in an ACTUAL outfit, sipping my green tea and watching a Ryan Stiles interview so as to avoid my homework.
Yay. Good days are good.
Super healthy day, so proud of myself.
went to the gym twice, once early this morning (I WOKE UP AT 7:30 OH MY LORD) and again for Zumba tonight. Feels so good to get stuff done and get fit.
Ate healthy, and stayed under my caloric limit (I’m using the LoseIt App on my IPhone to track my food).
Hoping I can pull off the same thing again tomorrow morning. Wish me luck.
Zumba today, plus a mini arm and ab workout before my shower.
felt so damn good.
feeling slimmer, or am I just giving less of a shit?
don’t know don’t care.

# working out
I’m motivating myself to exercise, because it makes me happy.
I’m trying hard to push out of my head the idea that exercise will turn me into some beautiful, angelic, victoria’s secret model-esque girl with long flowing brown hair and itty bitty thighs.
I mean yes, I have my end goals that may or may not be realistic.
But the point is, I’m not really keeping my goals in my mind. Instead I’m focusing on my day to day happiness and feeling good, and so far, it works.
I’ve discovered Zumba, and after going to my second class today, I can safely say I’m in love. It makes me smile, laugh and feel good while I know I’m getting a killer workout in because I can feel it.
And I’ve invested (alongside a couple other friends) into a fitness pass for my school’s gym, which set me back about $100 but offers a ton of different classes I can go to, and it’s totally unlimited. score. Add that to swimming plus just goofing around playing volleyball and basketball with my friends and going skating (because apparentley thats all this damn city ever does), and I’m slowly integrating fun excercise into my daily routine, and it feels great.
I love it.
